Life Of Kings Presents “Men Of Style” Series Vol. 1 , being that I work in the fashion industry and all around me are great dressing people I figured I’d document it here on Life Of Kings.
Allow me to introduce to you Jon D. Morales, Jon is the Vice President of Merchandising and Design for Hickey Freemen and Hart Schafnner Marx under the W Diamond Group umbrella. I see Jon every work day and he has to be one of the best dressed males I know, so when the day came when I wanted to take some shots his response was ” Today ? um well I’m dressed kind of basic today.” Modesty exudes from this guy not only does Jon have great style and taste he’s also one hell of a Designer. A few weeks ago The Standing Room hosted a trunk show featuring It’s in store label Heights + Kenchi and Radhika Owner and Designer of Lois Lane Vintage and her new venture Lois London. The event was titled “Milk and Cookies” fitting for the cold weather here in NY. Here are some photos from the night and I strongly recommend checking out both these brands. The Standing Room is located at 207 Clinton Street New York, NY 10002 you can also visit them online by clicking their link. The Standing Room is a nice cosy store that houses great design from Heights+Kenchi. It was a great night of good people, good vibes and great coffee and hot cocoa from Camelot coffee products. A Tribe Called Quest could easily be the greatest Hip-Hop group ever. To prove this statement I compiled some of my favorite songs off of all there albums through out the years so you can conclude your own opinion. Q-tip, Phife Dawg, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, and Jorobi White made history and revolutionized the game when they presented a fusion of Hip-Hop, Jazz a twist of positivity and an eclectic style of individualism. These Kings were or should I say are 100 percent themselves they made music from the heart and of corse for the love. Just when you thought everything has been done or thought of in the saturated denim industry someone comes along with a fresh new take that totally inspires you again. It is great to know that there are still original ideas still left out there and that’s where the good people at ”gn therapy” come in. The “gn therapy” project came up with a brilliant idea to take a raw (non washed) denim jean and bury it in different locations on the earth and let mother nature do the rest.
Each Jean is one-of-a-kind and has a wash name given according to the location where it was buried. The Beauty of letting nature take control is you’ll never know what you’ll get when you dig up that jean – stains, spots,wear and tear is the uniqueness of that specific location.
